We’ve been at the edge of our seats waiting to debut our new and improved website and the time has finally come! A very special thanks to Ambert, Melissa and the rest of the team at Paradox Design Studio for creating the perfect design and virtual face to our name. We are also excited to announce that our new website is integrated with the inventory management software from R.W. Elephant. The official launch date will be Monday, August 26th. For now, here’s a partial snapshot of our main page.

Unearthed Vintage studio grand opening: blogged

Last month we had the pleasure of celebrating our first birthday and grand opening of our new studio space with over 100 of our closest {amazingly talented wedding vendor} friends.  The amazing food from Epicure, yummy desserts from Cloud 9 Bakery and Sugar Fancies, strawberry basil cocktails brought to life by Dimitri Sequeira, craft beer from Due South Brewing Company, a photo booth care of Sideshow Booth, all captured by my wonderful sister-in-law Jamie of Mayfly Photography – we could not have asked for a more amazing event.  Of course I cannot forget to thank our very gracious friends Stef and Eileen for being our behind-the-scenes execution and clean up crew, allowing Jovan and I to host while still enjoying ourselves and all of our company.

We want to thank everyone who attended and showed their support.  We met so many new faces (forgive us if we forgot any names!) and connected with so many great people.  We actually had so much fun that we’re thinking of doing it again!  {End of the season celebration, anyone?!}

I won’t write too much more because the best part has been captured in time thanks to Mayfly Photography.  Check out all the fun we had!

Part II: Restoring original theater seats from the Olympia Theater {circa 1929}

UPDATE:  If you’ve been following us on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram, then you probably already know that we recently acquired 24 of the original theater seats from the Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center for the performing arts in downtown Miami. The seats were manufactured by one of the oldest seating companies still open today, American Seating. We are proud to be a part of the restoration of Miami’s history and excited to offer these soon-to-be beautifully restored theater seats as a part of our collection at Unearthed Vintage.

As you can see in the images below, the theater seats are almost ready for final assembly! Click on the thumbnails for a closer look. All of the cast iron and metal parts have now been sand-blasted and powder-coated in a “dark bronze” color.

Freshly powder-coated sides, supports, back, and seat pan.

We are very excited about how well the powder-coating took to the 83-year-old metal parts!

All the way down to the last detail, even the nuts and bolts that will hold these seats together have been sand-blasted and powder-coated.

Brackets, hinges, & clamps.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for Part III of this blog mini-series when we reupholster the seats and start the final assembly!

For those of you that haven’t heard, we have signed up to hopefully win a grant for $250,000 from Chase and LivingSocial! **crosses fingers**

But we can’t do this alone!  We need the help of our biggest fans, family, friends, and fellow business owners!  250 votes is what it is going to take for us to officially be in the running to receive this grant, and we’re asking that you please take a moment to vote for us today.  It’s easy!

  • Just click on this link: https://www.missionsmallbusiness.com/
  • On the bottom right of the page, it asks you to “LOG IN & SUPPORT” (with the help of Facebook)
  • Once you’ve logged in with Facebook, scroll to the bottom of the page
  • Search for “unearthed vintage” – Florida – Miami… then VOTE!

You can vote for as many companies as you’d like, but you can only vote for us once.  We really appreciate every single persons vote, so please pass this on!

And, if you’re a fellow small business and you’ve registered to be one of the many grant winners, let us know and we’ll return the favor and vote for you, too!

Just imagine all of the amazing things we could add to our inventory with a $250,000 grant! So many endless possibilities, we don’t even know where to begin!
