Unearthed Vintage studio grand opening: blogged

Last month we had the pleasure of celebrating our first birthday and grand opening of our new studio space with over 100 of our closest {amazingly talented wedding vendor} friends.  The amazing food from Epicure, yummy desserts from Cloud 9 Bakery and Sugar Fancies, strawberry basil cocktails brought to life by Dimitri Sequeira, craft beer from Due South Brewing Company, a photo booth care of Sideshow Booth, all captured by my wonderful sister-in-law Jamie of Mayfly Photography – we could not have asked for a more amazing event.  Of course I cannot forget to thank our very gracious friends Stef and Eileen for being our behind-the-scenes execution and clean up crew, allowing Jovan and I to host while still enjoying ourselves and all of our company.

We want to thank everyone who attended and showed their support.  We met so many new faces (forgive us if we forgot any names!) and connected with so many great people.  We actually had so much fun that we’re thinking of doing it again!  {End of the season celebration, anyone?!}

I won’t write too much more because the best part has been captured in time thanks to Mayfly Photography.  Check out all the fun we had!

It’s Our First Birthday!

We’re so excited to be celebrating our first birthday today!  The past year has been an incredible journey, and we’re so thankful for all of the love and support we’ve received throughout the process.  We thought what better way to spend our birthday than to invite 125+ of our closest friends to celebrate with us?!  So, that’s what we’re doing.  {This is officially bigger than our wedding… whoa!!}

Our birthday celebration is also the official grand opening of our new studio space in Wynwood.  Vendors from all over South Florida, and even a few from the West Coast of Florida, will be joining us for cocktails, great food, and yummy desserts.  {Psssst!  To all of our amazing clients who we LOVE so much, and we couldn’t be celebrating this birthday without… don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about you!  We have something planned in the coming months for you, and we’ll share as soon as we can!}

We are beyond thankful for the vendors who are helping us make this whole night happen.  A signature cocktail has been created by award winning mixologist Dimitri Sequeira, think strawberry, basil, vodka, and… yum.  Craft beers from Due South Brewing Co. will also make an appearance, just look for them in the clawfoot tub.  Hor d’oeuvres of mini-BLT’s, grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters, and a spicy tuna with an avocado basil puree will be provided by Epicure Gourmet Market.  The sweetest part of the night will come from a huge assortment of cupcakes from Cloud 9 Bakery, including apple pie cupcakes {my personal favorite} and pancakes and bacon (yes, you read that right, pancake and bacon cupcakes!), along with three beautiful cakes, s’mores cookies, and brownies along with lemon-meringue, chocolate, and berry medley mini-tarts from the amazing Sugar Fancies.  We also can’t forget the beautiful floral designs provided by Julia Rohde Desigs and music from The Party Pros.

For all of those joining us tonight, we can’t wait to see you!  Don’t forget to tag us in all of your Instagram photos. #unearthed1year

Stella McCartney at Saks Fifth Avenue in Boca Raton

Last month we had the absolute pleasure of working with the team at Saks Fifth Avenue in Boca Raton along with Xquisite Events to put together a beautiful event for the launch of Stella McCartney’s spring line.  When the initial inquiry came in, Jovan called me up to tell me about it and we were both speechless on the phone – they wanted us to be part of the design team for THE Stella McCartney? Seriously?  It was one of those moments where we had to stop and look around for a minute and say to ourselves, “wow, we really did this” – which is something we’ve found ourselves often saying this past year in the development and growth of Unearthed Vintage.  We worked hand in hand with the design team at Saks to create the perfect English garden setting.  Geraldine, Pearl and Vera along with Addison and Chandler were the perfect seating options for the intimate affair while our Canary Wharf Carreta was filled with beautiful flowers and the models for this event enjoyed playing chess and scrabble on our white bistro spool tables and ice cream parlor chairs.

Not only did we provide a few vignettes for the in-store event, but we also provided all of the mismatched china for the private dinner party that took place after the in-store event ended.

Here’s a YouTube video of Stella being interviewed about her event: http://youtu.be/qozqJLXXpTM – check out some of the photos below…

Last Weekend of 2012

We hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday!  We’re busy in the studio preparing for the last weekend of 2012 – our biggest event of the year is tomorrow, and will have lots of fun surprises for the guests including a snow machine and Cirque du Soleil performers!  {Yes, you read that right… cannot WAIT to share those pictures with you!}

As the first official New Years Eve at Unearthed Vintage, we couldn’t ask for a better celebration than the wedding of Danielle and Andre. Complete with lots of gold, glitter, and sparkly details – it just wouldn’t be New Years Eve without a little sparkle and shine, right?  Here’s a little sneak peek of the gold, peach, and blush backdrop custom-made just for this event!

And if we’re lucky enough to see the clock strike midnight (because some nights we just can’t make it past 10:00pm), we’ll most likely be sipping on red wine, reminiscing about the wonderful year that is now behind us, dreaming up all of the ways that 2013 will be even more amazing.  Time management, organizational improvements, and making self-care a priority are all on the top of the UV resolution list this year – it’s amazing how those seemingly simple things can escape everyday life when managing a growing small business.  Has anyone made any of their own resolutions for next year?

Happy Holidays and a big THANK YOU from us!

To say that 2012 has been amazing for us would be an understatement.  We opened our doors in January, celebrated our own wedding in February, and styled our first wedding in March.  What has happened since then has left us in a whirlwind.  As we opened our doors in January of 2012, our hope was that we were not the only lovers of vintage in South Florida and we would have at least a few events a month.  Now that we are in December of 2012 and we have a few events each weekend, we are amazed each day at the response we’ve had.  We want to say Thank You to each and every person that has helped us get here.

We are humbled by all of the vendors turned friends we have made in this industry, the followers we have who support everything that we do and the most amazing clients that any new company could ask for.  Perhaps client is not even the right word, as so many of you are now friends and we truly value the friendship and support that you have given us.

We want to leave everyone with a little holiday treat and to say Thank You  we would like to offer a 10% discount on all rentals if you book before December 31st!  Be sure to email us today to confirm your orders to get your holiday discount.

And for your viewing pleasure and a little holiday inspiration, we will leave you with the latest styled shoot we were so fortunate to be a part of, as seen on Southern Weddings.  Shot at the Cooper Estate, it was dreamed up and styled by Julia Rohde of Julia Rohde Designs, styled and coordinated by Shelley Cameron of Better Half Weddings, and photographed by the talented Michelle March of Michelle March Photography.  The shoot would have not come together without the amazing treats from Kristen at Cloud 9 Bakery, the gorgeous dress from Sasha at Sasha’s Bridal Boutique, the beautiful paper goods by Christie at Llorente Design, or the amazing film from Mike at Michael Burgos Films.

100-year-old reclaimed barnwood farmhouse tables

We are excited to announce that our first of twenty farmhouse tables is finally complete! By next month, we will have completed 13 of these beauties and a total of 20 tables by the end of the year! The table measurements are 8′ x 40″. That’s 10″ wider than a typical banquet rental table allowing you to utilize more space for table runners and centerpieces.

When these tables are arranged in a “family style” seating arrangement, you can comfortably seat 8 to 10 people per table.

These tables are constructed of  100-year-old reclaimed barnwood from Tennessee and you can still see the original square nail holes and the giant saw-mill blade marks.

Each board used to construct these tables is unique in its own way. We even left some of the original chippy paint on the undersides of the tables.
